OoM: Michael, Maria and Faith visit Amy DeLuca. All goes well, then Michael goes on an errand for Amy...

The door opens from Roswell, New Mexico, and three people come in.

Only two of them are the ones who left: Maria and Faith. The third isn't Michael, but Amy DeLuca.

All three are pale, with a varying mixture of anger, shock and grief.

Michael is in the bar. Things are starting to sink in now - not least the fact that he's really never going back to Earth, except perhaps for short visits, and that his path is laid out for him and he's accepted it ( Read more... )

Claire comes down the stairs and steps behind the bar, setting her son's carrier down, and then straightening bottles and wiping things down the way she always does. When she's done with that, she turns to the bar and immediately a letter appears for her. Kon is in the bar, sitting at a booth and scowling at a book. It's rather thick and heavy, and he probably needs distraction from the school-forced homework. Distract him?

Mercutio's on the couch again, this time with some sticks and a knife. He's whittling them idly, stripping off the bark and clearing it all into a neat pile at his feet.

Michael is in the bar again, still working on the drawing he began yesterday.

Michael wanders downstairs, barefoot, hair mussed and shirt mostly unbuttoned, looking thoroughly content. And there's something new - what was once a cheap plastic ring from a fairground and is now a simple silver band, on his engagement finger.

He's only come down for breakfast for himself and Maria, but he'll stay for a bit and talk if anyone

Michael is once again sitting in a booth.

The table in front of him is scattered with small diamonds, and a gold band off to one side. He's pushing the stones into various patterns and looking at them critically.

Michael comes downstairs. He hasn't bothered with shoes and socks today, and, for the first time in maybe quite a while, he looks relaxed and happy.

Maria's there, and safe. All's right with his world.
